6. 2006 Hungarian Grand Prix ★ Qualified: 15th ★ Race Classification: DNF
Reasons for choosing: This probably seems like a strange choice of race considering he didn’t finish it. But, before the retirement he had a really amazing race. He started down the field due to a time penalty in qualifying for a infringement in Friday practice. Before the first round of pit stops he had managed to climb up to 3rd place with some wonderful overtaking. You can see his great start here on youtube :) Unfortunately, due to a detached wheel nut accrued during his last pitstop, whilst in the lead, he crashed out of the race. I remember having a particularly angry/emotional outburst at this lol (which luckily no one in my house saw because they were all out), but it was still a mightly impressive race from Fernando. He didn’t get the result that his racing merited.
No, this was awesome. Damn wheel nut!! I watched it a couple of times actually because, even though I was totally gutted, he was awesome <3
